ETICS adoption - plans for integration activities - infrastructuresupdate to gLite 3.0 - pre-production infrastructure setup

Build Infrastructure ==================== - current ETICS status: *) project metadata inspection is available through command-line and web-based clients. *) local build is available through command-line clients *) remote build (on the build infrastructure) is under testing, and should be available this month *) continuous build should be available this month *) security: AuthZ&AuthN are being introduced now. Available before summer 2006 *) metadata editing is being introduced now. Available before summer 2006 - ETICS doesn't provide any vcs. So it's up to DILIGENT to host its own code. Having multiple vcs is possible, so partners can continue to use their current vcs provided they grant access to the ETICS infrastructure. CNR volunteered their Subversion installation for those who don't want to manage a public vcs access. Thanks CNR - Eng will start populating the ETICS database with DILIGENT project structure and metadata. Eng will circulate soon a description of information (subsystem/components, metadata, commands, dependencies ...) to be provided by DILIGENT partners. - As soon as ETICS db gets populated, Eng will start performing builds (locally at first, on the build infrastructure later). Local build doesn't provide any error-notification mechanism. A temporary solution will be investigated. - At next TCOM meeting in Frascati, an ETICS demo will be given gLite/Diligent Infrastructures ============================== - gLite 3.0 was released on May 21 - The development and testing infrastructures will be upgraded from gLite 1.4 to gLite 3.0 in the next weeks - CERN will prepare the upgrade plan for these 2 infrastructures and present it to the partners involved - Due to the new services introduced in gLite 3.0, to the new DILIGENT PPS infrastructure and the beginning of the integration activities some adjustments will have to be made to the current distribution of services/sites. - As decided in the Geneva TCom meeting the integration and testing activities will share the gLite resources. The testing infrastructure will be called testing/integration infrastructure - A new infrastructure for pre-production tests in being planed. In principle it will rely on 3 sites: ESA, CNR and one site of the EGEE PPS (to be confirmed).
