Description
'What is the nature of dark matter' is one of the most important questions in fundamental physics today. This astronomically and cosmologically measured missing mass in the universe is clear evidence of new physics beyond the standard model of particle physics and is the subject of much current theoretical and experimental interest.
This workshop will bring together local expertise in dark matter physics to discuss current research. Topics will include: astrophysical and cosmological evidence; recent possible observations in galactic x-ray and gamma emission lines; searches for dark matter particle production using the ATLAS detector at the LHC; and direct searches using the PICASSO and PICO experiments.
