EGEE-II: The final periodic report is in preparation. Institutes are submitting their summaries of work performed for activity managers to check whether the resources consumed and funds requested at the end of the project correspond to the work done. The final technical deliverables have been completed and the final periodic report will be ready by end May. All documentation will be sent to the reviewers by mid-June for the review. EGEE-II/EGEE-III: The EGEE-III project officially started on Thursday 1 May. Registration transition meeting closed on 25 April. Agenda: http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=30221 The transition meeting will also include a Project management Board meeting where a number of key points (EGEE-II final review agenda, EGEE-III PMB chair, gLite future support, impact of cloud computing etc.) will be addressed. 90+ participants have registered to attend the meeting, at which all aspects of the project will be presented (tools, procedures, programme of work). The Consortium Agreement is finalised and is being circulated for signature, for completion by 7 May. Informatics tools issues have prevented the final Grant Agreement being released by the EU but we hope to receive it soon for signature by the DG. A board for the Dissemination Communication and Outreach activity, NA2, was held on 22 April. Candidates have been informed of the outcome and the name of the successful applicant will be made public next week. The Project Office is currently helping with the recruitment of an administrative officer to replace Karin Burghauser in ETICS 2. The board will be held on 8 May. Cristy Burne, fellow, editor of the iSGTW newsletter in EGEE-II sees her fellowship extended for a further 3 months as she will take on all GRIDTALK project tasks committed to by Queen Mary University in London (QMUL). This extension enables her to carry out the work in the first three months of the project from CERN before moving to QMUL. QMUL will transfer the budget consumed by CERN to cover the fellowship extension costs.
