Description
We investigate a particular class of composite dark matter models, featuring bound states with large conserved “nucleon number”. The properties of such states can obey simple scaling laws, and this scaling can determine the number distributions resulting from “dark nucleosynthesis”. We find that, for plausible models of asymmetric dark matter, “dark nuclei” of large nucleon number (e.g. >~ 10^6) are synthesised, with the number distribution taking one of two characteristic forms. The modifications to direct detection and astrophysical signals that arise in these scenarios are discussed.
