Description
The beam transport along the ISOLDE beam lines from CA0 to RC4 has been studied using the programme MADX in the aim to evaluate the alignment imperfections of the transfer lines. ISOLDE beam lines are designed only with electrostatic components which are not included in the MADX code. The transfer matrices for switchyards, kickers, and quadrupoles have been calculated using the code SIMION and implemented in MADX. A reliable model in MADX of the ISOLDE beam lines is obtained allowing to explicitly treat the misalignment and quantify the acceptance losses. The effect of the misalignment have been corrected using the available quadrupole steerers and the corrections required are within the steering power.
