ADANES: The Chinese ADS Project

The Chinese Accelerator-Driven System (ADS) project developed rapidly, starting 5 years ago, including the accelerator, the target and the blanket. The idea of Accelerator-Driven Advanced Nuclear Energy System (ADANES) is proposed as a complete energy system, integrating nuclear waste transmutation, nuclear fuel multiplication and energy production. ADANES has the potential to reach the requirements of sustainable development, safety, economic competitiveness, and nuclear weapon non-proliferation.
