Monte-Carlo reweighting workshop
Minutes taken by Fabio:
Sasha: Introduction
The aim of this workshop is to see whether reweighting can be the way to systematically
study BSM with a limited number of MC samples. Today we’ll review the various approaches/tools
available on the market and also alternative methods.
Olivier: Reweighting possibilities (and limitations) in MG5_aMC
Markus question: Is default to use the full matrix element? yes. The reweighting module is
separated by “what you reweight with”.
Markus question: Color information: comes from the original theory. In other words it will work only
for the same color structure.
Markus question: What is exactly the plot in slide 12? It is a reweighting from an EFT to the full
theory.
Markus question: What is the time scale for NLO ? We don’t have a schedule yet for this.
Yuta: gg-> h production and event reweighting
Yuta described the techniques currently used. The method is additive.
Questions/comments by Fabio and Michael regarding how to improve the computation of the interference
terms. Michael suggested not to calculated it in the SM but at the different tan(beta) so that the
cancellation is less dramatic.
Michael : REPOLO
Question Markus: the reweighting is done only with tree-level matrix elements. what do you do with
photons? There is a cut on Q^2=4. Questions on how the unitarization is achieved for heavy higgs was
raised (answer: by adding a light higgs) as well as it is possible to include CPS for the width
directly at the simulation level.
Markus: JHU/MELA
Nikita: Morphing is presented
This is an additive approach. LO or NLO events? We are testing LO events.
