Description
We discuss the results of the JLQCD project on the fate of the axial symmetry in the chirally symmetric phase of QCD. This is an important issue that could decide the order of the phase transition in two flavors QCD and eventually the symmetry breaking pattern. The measurement requires a very precise control of the violations of the GW relation. Our results, after taking into account the systematics coming from these violations, support a full restoration of the axial symmetry after the phase transition. Being the lowest modes of the Dirac spectrum the main source of the signal, we are studying their properties in more detail and we will discuss some preliminary results on their localization properties and their relation to the Polyakov Loop.
