For the first time in Croatia, a virtual visit to the CMS experiment at CERN will take place in the framework of the 17th CARNet Users conference CUC. The conference is organised by the Croatian Academic and Research Network CARNet in Dubrovnik from 18th to 20th November 2015. It is under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. Every year the conference is attended by a large number of teachers, non-teaching school staff such as principals, IT experts, and also educational experts and stakeholders of the educational system in Croatia.
This year the conference title is "New Schools" since CARNet has begun the systematic transformation of teaching and educational processes through one of the biggest educational projects in Croatia called e-Schools, that aims at creating new, digitally mature schools. Additionally to the educational value of this virtual visit, this event will provide the participants with a broader view of how technology can be used for new learning experiences. This visit is organized as part of the Inspiring Science Education project, funded by EU CIP ICT PSP.
The virtual visit has been attended by 200 conference participants and approximately 500 people via live webcast.
