Description

Online communications increasingly rely on digital certificates to ensure systems and people are authenticated and their communications are kept private. In recent years, numerous weaknesses in this system have been exploited and abused. This talk will present an initial overview of the certificate ecosystem. Additionally, problem areas such as stolen certificates, weak certificates, and man in the middle attacks will be discussed. Finally, we will explore ways to strengthen the certificate ecosystem.
