2RR workshop: improving the reproducibility and integrity of research

Europe/Zurich

IdeaSquare; Geneva, Switzerland.

Description

2RR is a bottom-up action group of scientists who aim to have meaningful research lives, spanning participants across several European institutions. The initiative was founded out of a frustration with the current reproducibility crisis and innert flaws of the scientific system. Together, these lead to large share of published research being false or unused, which together wastes resources and disappoints evidence-based practicioners / policy makers and researchers alike.

At this workshop, we are going to kick-start our European platform and

  • create our 2RR Science Cookbook with 'recipes' that increase the reproducibility and integrity of research from project conceptualization to the presentation of results (collecting solutions & technology already in the public domain, and making these accessible)
  • develop a Sustainable Science Statement which can be added to grant proposals and project outlines (indicator of the level of reproducibility standards followed, plus online information resource)
  • shape the strategy of our partner network

For further information, we kindly refer you to the event website.

Who? The event is aimed at active scientists: from early-career stage to senior researcher. We welcome policy makers, industry / journal representatives, and open science activitsts!

Where? The workshop will take place at CERN's IdeaSquare, an energizing open innovation space located right next to the control room and access point to the LHC ATLAS experiment and the visitors center ’the Globe’.

Registration? Pariticipation is free of charge. Registration is required. Industry representatives are asked to make a  donation which directly benefits travel scholarships to the event.
