Description

The Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) project is close to its completion. More than 600 magnets have been measured and installed in its accelerator. Among them, 416 magnets for the linac and transfer lines have been tested on site at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; all the magnets for the SNS linac are in operation. These magnets include various magnetic dipoles, quadrupoles, and correctors. This presentation outlines the magnet measurements for the SNS linac and transfer lines at ORNL, and overviews our activities and accomplishments. * SNS is managed by UT-Battelle, LLC, under contract DE-AC05-00OR22725 for the U.S. Department of Energy. SNS is a partnership of six national laboratories: Argonne, Brookhaven, Jefferson, Lawrence Berkeley, Los Alamos, and Oak Ridge.
