Description

With the imminent deployment of release 1.2 on the production testbed, we need to establish the steps to ensure its effective use by the applications groups and the support structures required.

Includes:

Deployment issues:
Support structures for 1.2:
- user support group
- site support & monitoring
- overall grid monitoring
- policy for adding new sites
- how to handle urgent patches etc.
Status of work with ATLAS task force
Plans for demos using EDG 1.2 (between now and Christmas)
Tutorials (establish sites and dates for EDG roadshow)

Markus will present the view of a core site manager on the installation and support of release 1.2. The will presentation will include a list of lessons learnt about support of a 1.2 testbed site and the grid in general. The goal is that we should use this information should be taken into account in the work on testbed 2 to ensure easier support.

This presentation will outline the schedule for demonstrations based on EDG release 1.2. The goal is to clarify the schedule, participants, support requirements and contents of such events. Another issue is to identify scheduled times when the application testbed can be upgraded without interferring with such events and the work of the application groups.
