The Integrated Digital Conferencing Project (InDiCo)
Report on a project to develop and implement an integrated software platform to serve as information sharing and exchange environment for multimedia documents. The aim of the project is to implement and test new services specific to conference multimedia production and archival; develop new tools and techniques to extend the available facilities with multimedia indexing and browsing; build a complete conference management system on top of the agenda software used in HEP; integrate these new modules in an existing platform for digital publishing that has already been developed and tested in a previous IST project (see torii and TIPS).
Scope and Preliminary Functional Specification for a Database for Conference Programme and Proceedings
Round Table Discussion led by Rapporteurs with prepared input from all participants.
Outline of what we are trying to build - is it just for author information or other things as well such as:
- paper metadata, papers themselves ....
- who are the users, who are the owners of the data, who modifies it ....

Information Analysis
What data do we want to see in there and what must we have (minimum requirements)
What attributes do we need e.g. what are the attributes of an author, and an institute, what is the unique ID ...

Overall Schema: Processes and Data
Based on what was said in the earlier sessions
- identify the functionality and data flows
- identify the boundary conditions and interfaces.
How can the functionality be implemented, what are the interface modules (web, Oracle, SQL ...)

Arena, M. / Le Roux, P.(FNAL, CERN)

Database Design
Some sort of analysis and design - maybe not final design but the important features, what de-normalisation might we need, would we implement everything in Oracle and so on

Open Summary Discussion, to be reported during the Team Meeting by the Rapporteurs
Preparation of the talks for the Rapporteurs, with everyone giving some input. The Conclusions should resume all of what has been agreed upon and record how and why these decisions were reached
