This workshop is held in order to finalize the SRM v2 specification. The documents to be discussed are available here. In order to have an effective meeting, we limit attendance to 2 people (perhaps 3 in some) from each institution in the US and work packages in Europe that have been involved in the development or planned use of SRMs.

      1. Space reservation. That includes:

      1.1 Space reservation and negotiation
      1.2 space types (volatile, durable, permanent) and their semantics
      1.3 Associating file types with space types
      1.4 what happens to file status when it is moved from one space type to another
      1.5 space availability status

      1. Revisit file and system status functionality. That includes:

      2.1 what is useful for finding out about your request statusn2.2 what should be reported that is useful for planning
      2.3 what is useful for advertizing to RLS and MDS
      2.4 should status be active or passive

      1. Directory functions

      3.1 Which functions to support? ls, mkdir, mv, cd, rm, rmdir - what else?
      3.2 What about chmod, and group definitions functions?

      1. Security

      4.1 How to support multiple security models (GSI, Kerboros, etc.)
      4.2 How to deal with systems that have their own internal security
      4.3 who is enforcing file access permissions in a Virtual Organization (VO) Model (e.g. one that may be supported by Community Authorization Servicen (CAS))
