Lecture 1
At the time where the barter was the custom and later with early craft industry, the quality and quality management was obvious. With the arrival of large industries followed
with their world-wide extensions came the necessity of mutually recognised systems to define and measure the quality of the exchanged products or services.
What is meant with \"Quality\" ? - How is Quality \"measured\" ? - How is a QA system structured, built and assessed ? What are the reference standards ? will be some of the
questions addressed by these lectures.
The constraints, advantages, benefits, \"pros and cons\" of a system management will be analysed. Application to services, research, education, organisations and administrations
will be presented.
The natural evolution from quality control , quality systems and quality management to self assessment will be sketched.
