The experiments at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider have provided us with the discovery of the top quark, precision measurements of the top quark and the W boson masses, the discovery of the B_c meson, a flood of measurements related to b-physics, tests of QCD and much more. In April 2001, after a shutdown of about 5 years, the Tevatron resumed luminosity operation. I will present a selection of the Tevatron's physics highlights, discuss in detail the status and prospects of Run 2 data taking, as well as the preparations for the 'Run 2b'.
