Note: The goal of the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) Project is to develop and deploy the LHC computing environment, integrating the infrastructure at CERN with the regional computer centres that will provide the resources for the analysis of LHC data. It is expected that emerging GRID technology will be a key part of the solution. The LCG project will also provide support for physics applications, including the development of common frameworks, tools and libraries. The LCG has organised a 'launching' workshop at CERN on 11-15 March 2002, to collect experience and requirements from a broad community including the LHC experiments, people working in Grid projects and those preparing regional centres.
