A series of three seminars will treat the LHC project management issues confronting CERN. The first seminar will discuss the project management strategy employed to meet the unprecedented challenges of designing, constructing, installing and operating the superconducting LHC. The LHC is different from the other accelerators built at CERN, as all its systems are integrated and interact with each other, and some important subsystems are provided by outside collaborating
Institutes. A major co-ordination effort and unprecedented quality requirements will have to be supported by an Engineering Data Management System and a Quality Assurance Plan. Configuration management tools for the LHC project will also be
shown.
The following two seminars are scheduled to take place as follows:
Thursday 3 February
The LHC Quality Assurance Plan
by Marcel Mottier / CERN-EST
Thursday 17 February
EDMS tools to support the LHC project
by Thomas Pettersson / CERN-EST
