    Description
    Ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions at CERN and BNL can probe the deconfinement and chiral phase transitions. Non-equilibrium effects during a rapid phase transition can lead to important observables. I will present the main ideas of the dynamical aspects of phase transitions and discuss potential observables associated with pion and photon production during a rapid chiral phase transition.
