Description
Again this year HNF-Europe and CERN are organising their annual High Performance Networking Workshop at CERN in Geneva.
Subjects include:
High Performance Networking; Network Storage; Cluster Computing; Grid Computing.
Highlights of this CERN Workshop will be reports and/or demonstrations on:
10-GE: Progress + first CERN demonstration of Ethernet at 10 Gigabits/sec.
iSCSI: Bringing SCSI commands from the host to storage over a TCP/IP network.
GSN: Gigabyte System Network, the first ANSI standard 10-Gigabit technology.

For the technology demonstration it is planned to show:
- 10 Gigabit Ethernet demonstration connection from Cisco
- An IBM Computing Cluster
- iSCSI bridges from Cisco and Dot Hill.
- High Performance SAN Network storage from Dot Hill
- GSN Copper and Optical connections with TCP/IP and ST protocols (on multiple platforms)
- GSN switches and PCI to GSN NICs from GENROCO
- The SGI Origin 3000 with native GSN NICs
- Bridges connecting GSN to Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and OC48c
