CVD diamond for RF applications

De Beers Industrial Diamond Division (Debid) announces the availability of a new grade of Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) diamond, DIAFILM RF, for radio frequency applications, which require a very low dielectric loss material. DIAFILM RF's extremely low dielectric loss coupled with its high thermal conductivity makes it the ideal dielectric material. This material has initially found success as a window material for very high- powered gyrotron tubes and has subsequently found use in other applications such as microwave support guides. DIAFILM RF is supplied as processed free-standing plates in thickness up to 2.0 mm. The material is sold as whole plates, which are cut according to the customer's requirements.
