Description
The Isolde Collaboration and the Isolde Physics Group are jointly organizing a Physics Workshop and Users' Meeting at CERN. The workshop aims at bringing together the present and prospective Isolde users community to review the status of the REX-Isolde experimental programme and to discuss future plans and ideas. REX has already accelerated several species of radioactive ions, e.g. 10 000 ions/s of Na-29, and it has been demonstrated that REX can accelerate mass-140 ions with an efficiency of a few percent of the ion-source yield. The maximum energy at present is 2.2 MeV/A. This will soon be upgraded to 3.1 MeV/A and plans are in place to increase the energy further to 4.3 MeV/A.
