Event Formats / Monte Carlo Data Base. (Discussion) 1h
Setting up a simple production/validation framework with convenient book-keeping and storage was recommended by RTAG 9 and by the LCG App review (Oct 2003). The LHC experiments will rely on this framework for the generation/sharing of special events requiring a challenging production effort. Other possible uses (in workshops by theorists and experimentalists): benchmarks/comparisons between different MC in a standardised framework. - Are there further requirements ? - What is the impact on event records at partonic and particle level ? - What is the impact on event formats for what concerns the storage ? - What is the impact on the structure of present and future Monte Carlos ?
