Description
As you know R-GMA quite likely is the software that is going to be used for the Information Service in the JRA1 architecture. Also R-GMA was used in the DataGrid WP7 to enable the Network Performance Monitoring infrastructure. For all this, some time ago we decided that it will be key to understand better this software and its particular use for network performance monitoring. Key items: Gathering metrics: how?, end to end and/or core systems? Advertising results to the middleware Network Cost Function (JRA4?, JRA1?)

        R-GMA (50' + 10' discussion) 1h
        1) what R-GMA looks like as a user 2) re-engineering work inside EGEE 3) how this will overcome the EDG-WP7 limitations

        Discussion - Coffee 30m
Sure we would have had already discussions but we can use this time to discuss any other item related to R-GMA and the work done in WP7 in conjunction.

        GN1 - Network Performance Monitoring 15m
GN1 - Network Performance Monitoring system was already introduced in the EGEE-JRA4 meeting at Cork. In this workshop we need to focus on the interfaces (XML, API) the system is using and detailed overview about how can be accessed from external software and users. Also highlighting the completed and missing parts in the product.

        piPEs 15m
PiPES is a Network Performance Monitoring product developed by Internet 2. Gloria will give a system overview, detailing the architecture and, as with the previous speaker, will emphasize in the interfaces with external software and users. Mention about the missing parts will be interesting.

        GridMon 15m
GridMon is a tool for network performance monitoring developed in UK inside the scope of e-Science. This tool could be a good candidate to be used as the platform for gathering the network metrics.
