MEETING VENUE SARA is situated in the Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer area, the campus is called Sciencepark Amsterdam (view on http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=nl&geocode=&q=Kruislaan+415+Amsterdam&sll=52.359667,4.935608&sspn=0.037216,0.057936&ie=UTF8&ll=52.35799,4.931488&spn=0.037218,0.057936&z=14&iwloc=addr ) The workshop will be held at the CWI which is in the same building as SARA but has a separate entrance (Kruislaan 413). The meeting room for Wednesday is called Euler room (Z009). DINNER The dinner will be at the "Sea Palace" at the Oosterdokskade 8 in Amsterdam at 19:30. It is a 7 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station (http://maps.google.nl/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=sea+palace+amsterdam&fb=1&cid=0,0,9218000867956680226&ll=52.37742,4.904258&spn=0.010505,0.019462&z=16). From the venue you can walk to the intersection at the "Middenweg" (15 minutes walk) or you can take bus 40 to "Amstelstation" (NOT "Muiderpoortstation") there. From there you can take tram 9 to the Central Station. The tram will take about half an hour to get to the Central Station. Dinner is at your own expense. TRAVEL TO THE MEETING VENUE At Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol) you can take a taxi to get to SARA (traveling time about 20-25 minutes, costs about € 50). With public transportation you can also reach SARA, but this is a little bit complicated and time-consuming. From Schiphol airport you first have to travel to Amsterdam Amstel station or Amsterdam Muiderpoort station by train (with a change of train at Duivendrecht station or Central station) and there you can take the bus number 40 to the Sciencepark (count on at least one hour for this journey). From Amsterdam central station or the centre of Amsterdam you also can take tram #9 and get off at the “Kruislaan” stop and take from there bus #40 or walk for about 15 minutes along the Kruislaan direction NE (before reaching the campus you pass a tunnel under railway tracks). For more info regarding reaching SARA by public transportation, please consult our website http://www.sara.nl/contact/route_adam_eng.html . Enter the Sciencepark campus on your left if coming from the railway tunnel through the first gate (about 200m after the tunnel). The CWI building is on your right and there is a lambda sign near the entrance. A map of the Sciencepark may be found at: http://www.wtcw.nl/nl/contact/plattegrond%20SPA%20juni%202006.pdf More information about public transport in Amsterdam can be found here: http://www.gvb.nl/ENGLISH/TRAVELLERS/TOURISTGUIDE/Pages/tourist-guide.aspx .
