Description
It is well established that early detection of major diseases like cancer and their treatment follow-up are among the highest challenges of health care policy for the coming years. New therapeutic strategies are entering the world, leading to getting as shortly as possible information on the pathological status of the patient in order to start adapted therapeutics and therefore minimizing the handicap. The non-invasive determination of the molecular signature of cancers in the early stage of their development, or even before the tumor growth will help targeting the therapeutic strategy and considerably reduce the number of unnecessary biopsies.
This talk will illustrate on practical examples how the introduction of new molecular imaging technologies introduces a major breakthrough for basic research on small animals as well as in the clinical domain.
