EGEE-II: The EC has contacted the EGEE Project Office (PO) with yet further questions concerning the financial reports and this is incurring further delays in the processing of the payments. The PO is following up these requests systematically.

The Best infrastructure demo was EGEE Application Porting Support Group; Gergely Sipos
 
Les Robertson has joined the EGEE External Advisory Committee which judged the demos and provided its assessment of the state of the project to the management board.
 
The project Boards met on this occasion to discuss project matters as well as EGI progress, following the EGI_DS workshop on the Monday 22 September. Preparation for the EGEE to EGI transition plan (project deliverable report DNA1.4) were discussed and will be the subject of a dedicated management board meeting to be organised at CERN in November.
 
The search committee tasked with appointing a new technical director made a proposal to the PMB which was accepted. CERN is now preparing the final contract and the proposed candidate will start cca. End October/early November.
 
The PPT tool is still in progress for what concerns the Cost claim tab and will be put in production by November for the second internal cost claim reporting exercise.
 
The first amendment of the Grant Agreement will be prepared as soon as feedback is received regarding the seed resource allocation (institute and cost).
 
The PO is heavily involved in the Upcoming Grid fest on October 3rd.
 
 
EGEE and Collaborating Projects:
 
Leaders of several EC funded grid projects (EGEE, BalticGrid-II,EELA-2, EUAsiaGrid, SEE-GRID-SCI, EGI_DS, EUIndiaGrid) met at EGEE'08 to discuss transition strategies to EGI. There was agreement to collaborate in defining the transition strategy and the projects will prepare material on this subject during the first half of November.
The first EGEE-III MoU was signed with EDGeS project at EGEE'08. Final draft
of EGEE-SEE-GRID-SCI MoU sent to EGEE PMB for approval; MoU with GENESI-DR and BalticGrid-II ongoing.
