Description
The LHC has chosen Grid technology for the storage and analysis of the data from the LHC. This lecture will introduce the Grid computing model that CERN and its partners worldwide are implementing in the LHC Computing Grid project (LCG). The lecture will also describe how this technology is already being applied to support Grid computing in other scientific domains through the Enabling Grids for E-sciencE project (EGEE), and how industry is getting involved through the CERN openlab partnership.

Organiser(s): HR-RFA

Note: Students are invited to browse the GridCafe website (www.gridcafe.org) for a general introduction to Grid technology.
