Description
The LHC Beam Dumping System is the only system which can safely
dispose of the LHC beams. The system description is given, detailing
the required functionality, the technical solutions chosen, the
different hardware components and their performance specifications.
Design choices for safety critical system elements and operational
procedures are explained. System safety analysis results are
presented, together with the expected availability. Commissioning
aspects are briefly discussed.
