PMB meeting minutes BalticGrid-II 2008.10.01, 10.00-11.30 CEST Ake (minutes), Robert, Bartek, Linas, Hardi, Mario, Algimantas 1. Action list updated, see http://www.balticgrid.org/Internal/PMB/BG-II/Actionlist.htm 2. Topics 2.1 EGEE MoU --> ALL asked to review this document more carefully. It is not an ordinary MoU, but a MoU with actual milestones. Read this and send comments to Ake. --> Updated action #5 in action list. 2.2 Transition strategies to EGI - work to do before the Concertation meeting in Lyon, Nov 24 Algimantas is leading this, updating the PMB. Algimantas is the NGI Group chair of BG-II, member of the EGI DS PB, and LitGrid rep in EU grid infra group. --> New action #18 2.3 Follow up on: "Applications - what we have and don't have" (Algimantas) Algimantas gave an update on this. --> Issue: KBFI left the ITER project earlier today, leaving ITPA as the only partner in BG-II for the Astrophysics application. --> Mario will investigate the possibility to solve this in one way or another. Possibly by inviting Tartu Univ. --> New action #19. 2.4 EU call, SMEs using the BalticGrid Here's the link to the EU call (deadline December - first part of two stage procedure, May - second): http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/dc/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.FP7DetailsCallPage&call_id=138 --> All to investigate the possibilities for BG to do something here. --> New action #20 2.5 BalticGrid CA Longer discussion on the performance of today's CA, and the fact that LitGrid is thinking of having its own CA, something that is strongly against EUGridPMA's will of keeping the number of CAs down. A working plan has been proposed and will be completed by Algimantas and Hardi, with Ake as coordinator. Work plan for resolving the CA discussion: 1) Algimantas: list (detailed) your concerns and wishes for changes/improvements 2) Hardi: take this list and add your solutions 3) Algimantas: if not satisfied, goto 1) 4) Ake: makes up a contract, including insurance from David Groep that LitGrid CA will be up and running well in time before any current solution would close down (includes a 1 year warning from eenet). 5) All: agree on how to monitor this General comment: There are solutions to all current issues. E.g. the information flow from EUGridPMA to the other (non EENET) partners can be resolved both by spreading of minutes from EUGridPMA meetings, as actual attending EUGridPMA meetings as a listerner. Hardi will detail this in his response in 2) above. --> This is new action #17 ---- CONFERENCES and MEETINGS **** BG-II Tutorial, Grid Open Day (GOD) and AHM in Minsk Total no. attendees for these days: 170+ --> All to encourage BG-II participants to register to http://ssa2008.bas-net.by/ahm/registration/ --> The sooner the better (e.g. because of VISA procedures). - (27-29 Oct) scientific conference SSA'2008 with a SKIF-Grid workshop, (which ends with the Grid Open Day - GOD) - GOD - on 29 Oct morning (talks by representatives of BG-II countries) - BG-II All-Hands Meeting (29 Oct afternoon and 30 Oct) - Grid tutorial (on 31 Oct and 1 Nov) **** Concertation meeting 6th e-Infrastructure Concertation Meeting – 24 November 2008, Lyon
