      Minutes of The ROOT team meeting 2 September 2005 ================================================= Workshop preparation ==================== A first draft agenda is ready (see attachement). Still a few talks expected and one to be confirmed. There are 30', 20' and 15' talks. Ilka, Bertrand will make posters. Who else? Olivier, PROOF? Post workshop visits ==================== We expect -Philippe one week (Markus,Stefan,Rene) -Valeri Fine to discuss/fix several problems with the Qt interface Valeri will stay Monday->Wednesday (Ilka to coordinate) -Miroslav Morach: to include enhancements to TSpectrum and may be new class TSpectrum2 -What about Andy, Pete? (Fons) Preparation of the release 5.04 (20 September) ============================================== We have to freeze asap this release. Apart the few bug fixes (TFormula in particular), the following new features are expected: - Introduction of MathMore (Lorenzo/Andras/Rene) - Several enhancements to MathCore (Lorenzo) - I/O of variable size array of objects (Paul Russo) - Fast TTree::Merge which bypass the unzipping and streaming (Philippe) - A big patch for PROOF including the new GUI (Gerri, Bertrand) - the GUI Style Editor (Ilka) - GL new features (Richard & Timur) - 2-d graphics enhancements (clipping) Olivier - New class TSplot (Anna & Muriel Pivk) - port to AIX gcc (required by CMS groups in Aachen/Julich) - Code cleanup (thanks to rule checker) Rene Please communicate asap any other features to be included. Until now the Cohen-Sutherland algorithm was use. This algorithm is a line clipping one and is not meant to clip polygons. Many clipping mistakes were visible when zooming on TGraphs for instance.
