Special ISOLDE/AD Seminar: Present status of CP violation in the Standard Model and beyond

During the last five years a huge amount of new data on heavy quark transitions has become available. In this talk we will review the present theoretical interpretation of these data, with emphasis on CP-violating observables. The implications for the Standard Model and for possible extensions of it will be given.
