Introduction Announcements: - Release of gLite 3.0.6 *high priority*: The Grid Security Vulnerability Group strongly recommends that all sites upgrade the relevant components to the following versions BEFORE 2006/11/08. - Update on SL4 Migration: Building still on track for end of october (at least for WNs). Priority is on 3.1. VDT compatibility with SLC4 compiler not yet tested. In case of incompatibility one has to wait for the next version VDT 1.4 or 1.5, expected at the end of the year - Release schedule for pre-production and production services: It was proposed to update the repositories once every week (Mondays) in order to avoid problems caused by downloading software while this is being updated. - new release of CIC-Portal 4.0 online: Please test the new portal and report any issues. - Security concern with VOBoxes (bug #20795) - new CAs - new SA1 wiki page: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/EGEE/SA1 Actionitems: (no updates) 2. Round the Sites DESY ---- There was a Quattor workshop chaired by Uwe at DESY last week. Problems encountered: crashed file server. Jobs submitted by ILC from DESY WMS to Freiburg fail. Still being investigated. Considering involving dech mw support group. New dCache Release: 1.7. (For infos please contact Patrick F.) Flooded /tmp directory by Atlas users leads to failing jobs. Purging script applied. C.K.: Was discussed in last Operations meeting: Not official Atlas policy so purging OK. Atlas wanted to send broadcast to its users recommending to them to stop flooding the /tmp dir. FZK ---- Some dcache pools unreachable: a) a network connection was broken. HW fixed b) a node was rebooted but did not come up cleanly LCG-Glite Security updates on vo-boxes and CE. planning to update dCache next Tuesday to 1.6.6.5 SCAI ---- Everythink works fine. Successfully demonstrated glite standalone installation. CSCS ----- Some network problems encountered. New hardware: having to deal with some complicated legal issues Dortmund -------- Hanging LHCb transfers to GridKa now solved (connectivity problem at GridKa) Freiburg ------ Issue with jobs from DESY WMS. Details were already reported by DESY (see above) 3. COD There are some more shift in November. 6-12.11. as lead team (V.P., P.K., C.W.) and 13.-19.11 as backup team (K.C., C.P., C.K.) 4. ROC-On-Duty Some problematic tickets were discussed. (#1312, #1222) AOB --- Kläre reminded that it is still not possible for her to fill task 1.3.4 in the PPT Tool. CK: Will contact Marcel Kunze.
