The SPS LSS4 extraction kicker system (MKE4) will be reconfigured to remove all the hardware that was required for fast rise time and double extraction, which is not needed anymore as CNGS operation is over. This should increase availability of MKE4 by reducing the number of components used. This reconfiguration will also allow to remove one kicker magnet, which will improve the machine impedance. ABT will also profit from this intervention to upgrade one of the remaining MKE magnets with a new serigraphy that should further reduce the beam heating of the magnetic core, in view of a subsequent full deployment in LSS4 and LSS6 in a longer shutdown.
