The automated computations of (differential) cross sections with NLO QCD corrections and its matching to parton shower in SM was achieved in the MadGraph5_aMC@NLO framework. I will talk the recent progress in applying such a framework to BSM physics, with emphasis on the new ingredients absence in SM.
