This Virtual Visit will allow students from open university officially created 1st of January 2015 and involving laboratories and institutes around Paris and will be a part of MOOCs (Massive Online Open Course) « from particles to stars » that will last 10 weeks and will welcome 4600 participants.
Each week a set of sequences/videos will talk about some particular topics that will basically range from particle physics, nuclear physics, cosmology, their associated instruments (among which 4 videos about LHC detectors) and finally their applications for simulation, medicine, radiotherapy at the level of the master students.
These « lectures » are primary devoted to the master students but they are opened to everybody upon registration: https://www.france-universite-numerique-mooc.fr/courses/ParisSaclay/71001/session01/about
The CMS virtual is scheduled the day when the sequences over the LHC detectors will be released. The idea is that the participants could have a live idea of how the CMS detector is actually functioning.
