Summing the Instantons in Half-Twisted Linear Sigma Models

I will describe joint work with J. McOrist (arXiv:0810.0012) on (0,2) deformations of (2,2) gauged linear sigma models relevant for compactifications of the heterotic string on Calabi-Yau manifolds. We developed techniques to compute the dependence of unnormalized Yukawa couplings on (0,2) deformation parameters in a large class of models and applied these to a number of examples. Our results suggest some general non-renormalization theorems, as well as a possibility of extending mirror symmetry to include (0,2) deformations.
