Description
Four-dimensional 1/2 BPS particles made of low charge D4-D2-D0-brane configurations can be described by the attractor split flow techniques developed by Denef, and refined by Denef and Moore, by using explicit solutions to the Picard-Fuchs equation. In the work that I will present, such D-particles are described by the split flow picture as tachyon condensates of D6/anti-D6 pairs. By using Donaldson-Thomas invariants, which describe the gauge theories on Calabi-Yau filling branes, the BPS index for a D4-D2-D0-state can in principle be factorized into the product of two DT-invariants. In this talk, I will describe this procedure in detail for the case of D-branes wrapped on divisors of the quintic Calabi-Yau manifold, show to what extent this factorization of the indices holds, and propose a more refined index.
