Description
A promising setup for interesting phenomenological applications is provided by N=1 brane models in presence of closed string background fluxes, which have important effects both at the perturbative and non-perturbative level. I will discuss soft supersymmetry breaking terms and non-perturbative flux-induced effective interactions, with a particular attention to models based on D3 and D(-1) branes in orbifold setups.
