Luis, beta-beating from Beam-beam

beta-beating and coupling seen with beam-beam elements. Coupling source unclear. MD questions open.

Javier comments on emittance with bright beams.

#########################################

Oscar, Non-uniform FFT

Tools for non-uniform FFT are being tested. Work in progress.

##########################################

Andy, AC dipole issue in 2015 commissioning

In beam 1 horizontal there is an abrupt jump in the phase resolution versus number

of turns analyzed. In sliding window the bump happens between 1000 and 2500 turn.

Another bump is also seen in the AC dipole and machine tunes in the same region.

This is observed always in beam 1 H !! Must be AC dipole. Slides to be sent to

Nicolas Magnin.

Action -> contact Nicolas Magnin

Lukas, Software improvements

K or KL, why? where?

KL seems to perform better but MQT12 and 13 increase a lot in required correction.

This works as an option in GenerateFullrespone and correct.py.

Action->Jaime, Option to use K or KL in the GUI at correction

We were not using arc MQTs for one of the Beams -> To be fixed, Lukas

Weights based on measured errors, possibly combined with user defined weights -> switches turn into

real weigths that can still act as switches (0 or 1).

-> Jaime, Lukas, Natural tune and error in GettLLM to be investigated.

-> Systematic Dispersion error missing

->plugging in measured orbit in the model.

->Use matched model to create response matrix!! cool! but not so high priority, not for commissioning.

Beta-beating can be matched to 7 permil rms. We would need to introduce the target model for correction.

Compatible MADX with virtual orbit corrects in 2-3 weeks.

Jaime and Ana, Kmod, sbs, etc

K-modulation GUI changed but not tested yet. The problem was strange anyway so tests needed.

->Felix, to write a fit K to tune to be called from Maria's GUI. Jaime  fixes the GUI part.

-> Iterative model cut for beta from amplitude on-going

-> problem with python fit, investigate other methods, convergence criteria.

->format to pass calibrations proposed, to be refined.

->Where to put calibration? svd_clean, Drive, GetLLM? Drive discarded!

Maybe best place to correct amplitude is GetLLM at reading input.

Note that secondary amplitudes in Drive output are normalized to main amplitude.

Beta* matching is not easy to use out of the GUI-> putting it in the GUI will take lots of time...

->New display in GUI sbs: Beta from amp cal. and Beta* and w

->Beta* and beta from amplitude also in global.
