A l'heure où l'humanité se tourne vers l'espace, la sculpture VITAE sera la première sculpture conçue pour être transportée et déployée sur la Lune, témoin de nos premiers pas sur la Terre, source de nos plus beaux rêves, étape vers un nouveau monde.
Anilore Banon a imaginé VITAE, une sculpture conçue pour être envoyée sur la Lune : une fois posée, VITAE s'ouvrira et se fermera au rythme des jours et des nuits lunaires. Témoin d'une humanité rassemblée, elle emportera les empreintes de milliers de mains, qui seront pour les générations futures ce que les mains de Lascaux ont été pour nous, comme l'évoque Jean Audouze, Astrophysicien, directeur de recherche émérite au CNRS.
Anilore Banon développera lors de sa conférence la genèse du projet et ses défis scientifiques, artistiques et humains.
Elle l'illustrera avec des supports vidéo des différentes étapes du projet et évoquera notamment son départ imminent vers la station spatiale internationale, nouvelle étape dans l’espace vers la Lune. (http://vitaeproject.com/)

Soon, a sculpture on the Moon - A scientific, artistic and human challenge

With humanity’s gaze turning increasingly towards the stars, the VITAE sculpture will be the first deployable artwork on the Moon. This step towards a new world will evoke our first steps on Earth, the source of our most beautiful dreams.
Anilore Banon has designed a sculpture that will be installed on the Moon. Its name is VITAE. Once installed, the VITAE cocoon will open and close to the rhythm of lunar days and nights. Symbolising united humanity, it will be engraved with thousands of hand prints, which will be as evocative to future generations as the hands of the Lascaux cave-dwellers were for us. This will be the subject of an additional talk by Jean Audouze, emeritus research director at the CNRS.
In her talk, Anilore Banon will describe the genesis of the VITAE project and the associated scientific, artistic and human challenges.
She will illustrate her talk using video footage of the various stages of the project and describe the sculpture’s impending departure for the international space station, the next stage of its journey into space and its final destination, the moon. (http://vitaeproject.com/)
