** News from CERN

The DPM project has stable manpower for 2016, with Fabrizio, Andrea,
Georgios, Oliver and still contributions from Andrey. We have lost David
however, and dpm-xrootd will be taken over by Fabrizio initially and
handed over to Georgios when he's up to speed.

** DPM project strategy 2016

We anticipate two releases this year, a maintenance 1.8.11, due in
EPEL-test in a couple of weeks, and a "Dome" release in Q4.

* "DOME" and how to get there

Dome is the final step in making a legacy-free DPM, obsoleting dpmd,
csec, rfio & co. This will be the main story for 2016 and we need help
here. There are two scenarios to consider. NB - while Dome and SRM can
coexist, Dome is not SRM aware and it will require care to avoid
inconsistent space reporting.

  i) a site moves to SRM-free operation, then adopts Dome. This is the
easiest path and we would like to support a site in doing this.

  ii) a site installs the "hybrid" solution, and works with us to iron
out the details of this "cohabitation".

* Site federation

The idea of a multi-site DPM was discussed and we agreed that it's too
early to dedicate effort to supporting this. In any case, a Dome-based
DPM will be in a much better position here (thanks to simpler disk/head
communication).

* CentOS7

The 1.8.11 release will contain all CentOS7 fixes known to be necessary.
Please can interested sites install from EPEL-test when the release is
announced and give us feedback.

Official support for CentOS7 will be declared once we are satisfied with
the testing results. We will withdraw support for SL5 at the same time.

* Configuration

CERN has no plans here other than support for puppet and Centos7. No
objections.

* Integration with AAA/FAX

No concerns here, this will be covered by normal dpm-xrootd maintenance

*  Caching demonstrator

WLCG is currently asking for technology demonstrators for medium term
infrastructure evolution. We will send out an invitation to participate
in an exploratory demonstrator (WLCG level) on running site storage as a
pure cache.

** DPM Workshop 2016

We invite communication of interest in a 2016 DPM workshop and
volunteers to host it.

** Communication - dev meetings, info dissemination

Any problems here? No.

** Collaboration agreement and membership

No wish to change the agreement.

Australia may join us.

Japan's membership has lapsed.

** Collaboration effort review and task allocation

Instead of going through the spreadsheet again, as we have a limited
number of themes this year, we can summarise thus;

Specific responsibilities agreed;
   GridPP - admin tools
   France - GridFTP redirection testing

Beyond this, everyone pledged to help with Dome and CentOS7 testing. In
particular, Michel said LAL could help with the 2nd scenario ("hybrid").
