Attended:

Julia, Miguel, John, Ivan, Adrian

Many people are in vacations

Miguel presented status of the new implementation of CERN accounting.

Julia asked how validation of the accounting results are performed? Are they compared with the old system for example for LSF? Or they compared with the experiment-specific systems.

Miguel answered that validation is not straight forward, since comparison with experiment-specific systems is not always relevant. For example the hardware used for services should be accounted as well, and for dedicated queues, even if the resources are not used by the experiments 100%, they are accounted as if they were used 100%. However, validation work with the experiments is required.

Julia told that as soon as members of the task force who are representing experiments are back from vacations she would ask them to start validation of the results of the new CERN accounting system.

Julia asked , how complicated would be to switch to  new CERN accounting data from APEL perspective. John replied that it might be quite strait forward.

According to Miguel validation and then graduate migration to a new system can start asap and might take few weeks.

Julia presented the status of automation of data validation. John asked who would follow up site-level problems indicated by the new system. Julia told, that she would ask members of the task force who are representing experiments to work on it.

John asked to report progress on potential site accounting problem on the task force twiki.

The last topic of validation of the new portal was not covered during the meeting, since there was not much progress because many people were or are still on vacations.

No feedback was provided regarding the WLCG-dedicated accounting portal proposal, that is why Julia could not go ahead  creating  specification for the WLCG-dedicated portal.

Next meeting is on the 15th of September, since Thursday in two weeks is CERN holiday.
