Agenda:
https://indico.cern.ch/event/575317/
*Agenda and ongoing issues*
No requests to change the agenda.
Ulf: GRnet deployed dual stack for EGI CA so it is now possible to access the EGI distribution over IPv6
Edoardo: added table reporting Tier1s IPv6 connectivity on the
hepix-ipv6 web site https://hepix-ipv6.web.cern.ch/sites-connectivity .
Comments are welcome.
*Papers for CHEP2016*
Alastair about the paper "deployment of IPv6 only CPUs...": done the
abstract, the table of contents, which have been put in github. For the
next meeting Alastair hopes to have a full draft.
Francesco on CHEP paper on Security: Dave has not setup the framework
yet, but will do soon. No much progress so far.
*FTS migration to dual stack*
Alastair: arranged a meeting a week ago at the FTS steering meeting.
Decision made: they will switch one node to dual stack, wait one week,
if LHCb doesn't have any problem then they will enable all the nodes in
one instance. The test node is already dual-stack.
Raja: there are no problem reported so far.
*Roundtable updates*
Alastair for ATLAS: not much progresses on Panda because there are many
things hardcoded. Some progress made on enabling ipv6 only CPUs.
Catalin for RAL: getting up to speed with enabling IPv6 on servers.
Martin for RAL: the networking team has a plan to be agreed for all the
changes needed to have the infrastructure dual-stack. It's progressing
slower than expected because of manpower issue. IPv6 for LHCOPN is not
included in the plan, Martin will check what can be done to include it.
Fernando for PIC: found a problem with IPv6 NDP on servers connected to
Cisco Nexus 7000 and F2 port module. The problem is due to the OMF
feature. The OMF feature must be disabled to make NDP works properly.
For more info write an email to Fernando.
Francesco: tried to setup ipv6 on Azure; it had a strange setup: the
public ipv6 address was given to a loadbalancer, which then forward the
packet to the servers on link local addresses.
Francesco for CNAF: CNAF has implemented IPv6 and it seems to work properly.
Kashif: NTR
Raja for LHCB: still discussing how to migrate the services to dual-stack.
Ulf for NDGF. Not much happening on IPv6. The network is beong changed
to a virtual routers setup.
Edoardo for CERN: no progress on EOS due to lack of time
Raja for LHCb at CERN: VOMS tested OK and will upgrade the production
servers.
*AOB and dates of next meetings*
No AOBs
Edoardo mentioned the dates of the next meetings agreed at the last
face2face meeting:
- Conf call on the 15th of December at 16:00 CET
- Face2face on the 2-3 of February 2017 at CERN
