Description
This asic has been designed for very high track rate densities (500 Mhit/cm2/s), high radiation doses (400Mrad and 8x 10exp15 neq/cm2) and protection against SEU's. Excellent results have so far been obtained from validation testing of dies from a recent wafer production run in TSMC 130nm process. Measurements of the noise and threshold uniformity conform to expectations from simulation and promise low threshold operation. Pixel and super-pixel digital logic can be reconfigured in many operation modes with innovative functionality, such as digital threshold and limited TOT conversion for sensor performance monitoring. The internal data readout structure is designed to handle data rates around 16 Gbit/s with a router and four outputs with 5Gbit/s serialisers.
