Dissemination and Exploitation • Updated the website … If you spot anything or have news to post on the website let me or Catherine know J • Analyzing ETICS functionalities at the light of the results of the competitors analysis and preparing a list of ETICS features. This is part of the activities for the identification of ETICS “unique value proposition”. We would like to use the list also on dissemination material • Preparing a questionnaire to collect feedback from the people we do demos to and decide not to use ETICS. The aim is to collect information on the tools used and on which of ETICS features are considered interesting or not interesting. The questionnaire can also be used to get feedback from ETICS users or other projects/companies who do not know of ETICS. We will be sending it round in ENG. A-QCM • Working on A-QCM ISO standardization strategy and plan. The document which will summarize both the strategy and the plan will be ready by next week

Support ------- - Marco, Uwe in shift. 3 tickets, 2 escalated (average 3.5h), 1 waiting for reply (5h) - Commenting extensions for the support portal nearly ready - Testuiste for VOMS using the mysql deployment module finished. Also quite good exmpale of deploying custom reports. This work will be described at the next JRA1 AH meeting by VOMS developer Vincenzo Ciaschini, following request by JRA1 leader Francesco Giacomni, so the work shoild be in the more complete state possible. Asked Alberto to review it, someone else that could do that (testing people). New applications ---------------- - Still working to fix ARC build problems - Met with WMSMonitor people to get them started on using ETICS for their project (gLite side project, a web app for monitoring WMS instances) - Continued working on the infngrid release project Infrastructure Integration Job Submission ------------------------------------------ - The glite-submitters has been made available to SA1 developers - Seed resources arrived. The etics vo has been enable on to sites. Bad surprise is on one site there's no python available. Moreover, as for many site in the infratsructure, this info is not published with on he information system. Now we are trying to udnerstand whether they're willing to customize some nodes for us. Anyway this is a problem that it is a possible showstopper for the gLite integration. Need to understand whether alternatives are viable. - Started integrating the metronome submitter with the framework developed for the glite, that provide spersistence and otehr common components. - Started brainstorming on an EC2 externsions, need to make a plan for that Deliverables ------------- - Started working on DSA2.5 due PM15. On track.

Build&Deployment of JRA2 services Generally, work has been done to improve the process and the scripts. Now it is in progress to move the modelled environment from org.etics.testsuites.pluginstests to the right place. Working together with Sztaki to model the build and test environment for their desktop grid applications. Also work is in progress to customise better Valgrind plugin as Sztaki is going to use it in their tests. Joint SA1 and JRA2 meeting in CERN on 12 May Lots of discussions between Sztaki and 4D Soft to have proper scenarious for multinode deployments. We are going to prepare a document on this subject and we will discuss about it on the 12th May meeting in CERN. Collecting material from D4Science on their way of using ETICS for testing is in progress. This material will serve as one of the basis for the best practices deliverable for SA2.

ETICS USIS (User Satisfaction Improvement Strategy) 5m
Improving user satisfaction about usage of the ETICS services is critical. ETICS is often perceived as slow and difficult to use. This is due to a number of factors: 1) Need for technical improvements in speed and usability 2) Disinformation or third-party rumours 3) General resistance to adopt 'procedures' We need to understand what to focus on and have a plan to address this issue as a combination of technical enhancements, training and dissemination. Where to start?
