Description
Scattering amplitudes have a remarkable simplicity and harmony, exposed using modern on-shell methods. We first give examples illustrating this harmony, and then present examples in QCD, supersymmetric gauge theory and gravity where the new ideas have had a non-trivial impact. In particular, we present recent results from the first complete NLO QCD calculation of W+3 jets at the LHC and summarize recent advances in matching supersymetric field theory scattering amplitudes to string theory via the AdS/CFT correspondence.
