The CERN Geant4 team is pleased to announce that we will host a Geant4 course at CERN on February 15th-19th, 2010. This tutorial course will instruct attendees in the use of Geant4 at a basic level, applicable for any application fields. It is planned to use the upcoming Geant4 release, 9.3, for the frequent practical exercises in all the topics covered. The course will include material and hands-on exercises selected for users beginning to use Geant4. It will be useful also to those who have used Geant4 for a brief time. It will cover all the basic areas required for its use and its key concepts. The significant majority of lectures and all practical examples will be applicable to any Geant4 application areas. Selected extension topics will focus on topics of interest to application in High Energy and Nuclear Physics and related fields. No familiarity with Geant4 is required, but a basic working knowledge of C++ will be needed and assumed. Each person attending will be expected to bring a laptop for use in the practical exercises. The course will be given at no charge, but pre-registration is required since capacity will be limited to 45 attendees.
