MENA-20 Compatibility

  • Motion control card BWEMC
    • No problems observed when using the VMA
  • High voltage card
    • Read-out fails even with VMA
    • Needs to be changed
    • Also switches from turn to bunch by bunch mode
      • Not needed in LHC - only SPS & PS
    • For LHC decision to move to ISEG card
  • Possible new test tools
    • Small utility to test motion independent from FESA - but still using CPU
    • Enrico will look into this with Guillaume
  • Scan interlock limits
    • Property for intensity*energy limit with MCS & LSA
    • Implement continuous check of intensity status property (~1Hz)

Test Bench:

  • Linear scanner in 867 being prepared by Morad
  • Need reduced mechanical set-up in 865

EYETS:

  • Separate B1 and B2 systems adding second VME crate (Wiener type 'A')
  • Port to MEN A-20 & FESA3 replacing BI HV card with ISEG
  • Write simple test utilities to check basic functionality
  • Set-up test bench in 865 for full functional testing
  • Need decision for stepping-motor electronics / software (Felix' card?)
  • Clarify and document software specifications (BI/OP) for renovated system
